March 13th the ATR42-320 passenger aircraft started its maiden flight to Dijon. During the summer the 2nd ATR 42 is converted to cargo in England and a 3rd ATR is added to the fleet. Delivery of 3 ATR 42. ![]() |

Twice a week our F27 passenger aircraft serves Pristina on behalf of the Swiss Government for the SWISSCOY operation. In November FARNAIR agrees to become the launch customer for the first ATR 72-200 full freighter with large cargo door. End of December the first of two ATR42-320 aircraft is delivered.![]() |

Express Airways, EPA, the new German operator within the Aviation Group starts its operations with 11 Short SD3-60 aircraft. FAT is reorganised into two profit centres; the Headquarters and the operator FAT. |

As one of the first Swiss Airlines, FAT receives the JAR-OPS 1 Air Operator Certificate (AOC), the official authorisation as a commercial operator according to the European JAR-OPS 1 Regulations. FAT is certified according to ISO 9001 Quality standards. MiniLiner, MNL, an Italian operator joins the Alliance. ![]() |

The FARNAIR Europe Aviation Group is created. The Aviation Group fleet is enlarged by 3 Airbus A300. Later on a 4th A300 was added. ![]() |

An F27, based in Tibilissi, is operated on behalf of the UN and for the Swiss Government. An OSCE operation to Sarajevo is started. FAT streamlines the fleet and settles on Fokker F27 Mk 500. ![]() |

In order to access the entire European Union Market and to diversify worldwide activities, FAT sets up a Joint Venture with the Dutch, Rotterdam based TULIP AIR B.V. airline. |
